.. who are "contemplating" not taking the stimulus money, I wish the Dems would ram through a little bit of legislation stripping each of these states from the plan and lowering the total package's cost commensurately.

Surely they'd appreciate it. The weasels will take the money, every last one of them.

if this is a 'Democracy', and we get the government we vote for, then they should be tickled pink, that their Governor is refusing assistance from the Federal Government. Do you think the people of Louisiana are calling up their own Governor, or is it up to people in other states to do that?

Which means they can cynically grandstand to their mean little hearts' content, secure in the knowledge that the money will come anyway. I would advise people that the most dangerous place on earth will be anywhere between the cameras for a ground-breaking ceremony and Bobby Jindahl or Mark Sanford. You're liable to get run the fuck over.

7. What you have to keep in mind

Is that for these GOP politicians, lowering wages, destroying public education and public health care are WAY more important than anything else. They want it starved.
