Did the repukes kill the golden goose (us)?
It seems to me that what these incompetent, but always kleptocratic bastards have done is squeezed us so hard that the consuming public now resembles an empty tooth paste tube. Think about it: NAFTA & out-sourcing in general, a privatized (unneeded) war, tax cuts for the rich, the (unregulated) mortgage industry fraud, the Wall St. robbers, the anti union-low wage fever and last summer's oil industry price "surge"...... They've sucked us dry!

So much for the "Free Market"!
Oh, and don't forget how they absolutely need to kill our children for their profits.....

3. Killed? I don't know . . .
I think they've starved us pretty good. If we start making the wealth generated by the people work for the people, we might just revive our system. As it is, a very substantial percentage of the nation's wealth is being diverted to dead ends like the illegal occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan, fleeing overseas buying imported goods we could produce ourselves, or going into the overstuffed pockets of greedy motherfuckers.

If we start making the wealth flow back into channels that benefit the people producing that wealth, the golden goose could make a comeback. But will the wealthy be willing to compromise their overweening hunger for more so that everyone benefits? Or will we take it, heedless of their bleating?
