LOLOLOL "$1000 chance to hear Bush speak"
Snip:

"CELEBRITY agent Max Markson plans to bring former US president George Bush to Australia on a $1000-ahead speaking tour next year."

He was confident Australians would be happy to pay $1000 a head or $10,000 a table to hear Mr Bush speak, even though he is unpopular for his decisions on the Iraq invasion, Afghanistan and the financial crisis.

Article here

OMG!! Make it stop!!  Anyone who thinks Aussies want to hear from Bush is on crack. May Max Markson's delusional dreams of grandeur blow up right in his idiotic face.

The only reason someone would pay $1000 to see George W. Bush is for a chance to hit 'im with one of these...

1. They're doing it the wrong way around.
They should be telling Australians that failure to pay $1,000 per head or $10,000 per table will result in George W. Bush being inflicted upon them.

3. Even better. Bush should pay AUSSIES $1000 for his sorry behind to darken their doorways
The thing that just got me is that the promoter is basically saying, "we want to bring Bush to Australia despite his unpopularity re: the wars and the economy."

Ummm... are those not the two biggest things on earth for a world leader to be unpopular about?? In what other major way could a former Pres be unpopular? And why on EARTH do you think anyone would pay thousands of dollars to see someone unpopular over such MASSIVE issues??

When my husband and I saw a report about this on tv we damn near bust a gut laughing.

more than the President gets for a YEAR's salary

SO

and Dim-Son is still laughing all the way to the bank . . .

4. I bet there are some Aussies who would pay, or am I
blowing smoke? :smoke:

I would think your former PM Howard is due a payback after occupying Blair House when it was so unpopular to do so.

6. Yeah, Howard and his friends would be front and center at a Bush event.
I will never understand John Howard. His support of Bush was obviously greater than his support for America, as evidenced by his idiotic comment during the Primaries last year that the terrorists desperately want the Democrats and especially Obama to win.

He lost everything because of Bush, including his government seat. And yet, I have no doubt he'd be there front and center if the man ever showed his face Down Under.

9. What, like real words strung together to make coherent sentences?
I guess there's a first time for everything.

Maybe it's the novelty of Bush actually saying something that will draw them in.

14. Well, that's definitely one way to look at it! lol
Like I said, I'm looking at it more like a sporting event. Which tomato hurled at this clown will be the first to hit his black heart.

17. Boggles the mind, doesn't it??
After all he's done, not just to the U.S. economy but the Aussie one too. 6 months ago, the Aussie dollar was worth about 98 cents of a U.S. dollar. Today, it's 65 cents.

Which of course makes no sense to me as the Aussie economy is pound for pound (or kilo for kilo) stronger and more stable than the American economy right now. Global economics was never my strong suit but if anyone can explain how the currencies of stronger economies are becoming WEAKER against the very weak U.S. dollar now I'd be much obliged...

18. They aren't paying $1000 to hear Bush, it's a $1000 a person drinking game.
They like to drink and Bush will provide enough fuck ups to make sure a good time will be had by all.
