Here's a whale of a story:
San Diego/Riverside Senator Dennis Holilngsworth (who wants to repeal the Endangered Species Act), is now calling on the Governor to convene a "God Squad" to get exemptions from a federal court order restricting water pumping in the delta. Hollingsworth's press release denounced this action as saving delta smelt at the expense of people dependent on water from the delta. Only it turns out he forgot to mention a new federal study which finds that salmon and killer whales are also being decimated by these pumps. That's right, if Hollingsworth has his way, no more Shamu!
