I'm glad the Democratic party has evolved beyond benchmarks

The GOP is incredibly foolish for holding itself to standards for conservatism.

1. It's Another Stalking Horse...

If there were people who knew how to bury pork and earmarks into bills it was the repugnians. Now that they are out of power they're all aghast that those nasty libruls and "socialists" will take that money away from their beloved defense contractors and give that money to a family in need or an under funded program. The shame. Of course, if they were in control, we'd hear how earmarks help the folks back at home...the GOOP larded up their bills so thick it was hard to even know what the original legislation was.

The main tenet of what's left of this party is hatred and selfishness. Taxes appeal to the selfish...add it with some race baiting and other venom and you have the modern repugnican party.

Yep, the "standards" are what cost them the last two elections...and their obstructionism will ensure a third one.
