Conyers is not in Washington D.C. this morning.
I just called his office, and the aide answering the phone said that he is in route to Washington from his district. I can't find a copy of the subpoena, but I thought that Rove was supposed to already be in deposition this morning. Anyone have the time Rove was supposed to show up?

Conyers disappoints once again.

2. It's a deposition, not open testimony before the full committee.

No reason Conyers needs to be there. It's just Rove (assuming he shows), his attorney(s), the committee attorneys, and a court reporter.

As I tell my dog when she gets on alert over nothing, "you can put your fur down now." :-) :hi:

5. That I haven't heard.
If this was the first attempt at scheduling the deposition, it's just as likely as not that it will be postponed, rescheduled, etc. DH is a lawyer, and he says that even in li'l ol' Little Rock, depositions commonly don't happen at their first scheduled date.

Wheels of justice grinding slowly and all that. :boring:

4. Congressmen rountinely return to D.C. on Monday mornings. Cut him a break.

It's a deposition, not a full Committee Hearing. Conyers wouldn't need to be there, just staff attorneys. It may be tactically good for him NOT to be there, and let the attorneys handle it, so as not to inflame the situation. (Might get more info -- assuming Rove shows.)

6. It was to have been at 10:00 am
but there appears to have been still another delay - Obama seeks delay in deciding on Rove subpoena

:banghead:
