I am entering a training program through CSU Sacramento for certification in HR Mgmt. Meanwhile I am doing initial job-market research into the field and into employers who have HR departments, etc.
It looks as if this would be a growing field, even though jobs are scarce. Healthcare, State, Local and Contractors may be good industries... and hey, I live in a resort town...so that could be cool too. Some folks that I spoke to said they were concerned about outsourcing, but that's mostly for customer service questions regarding benefits... I would think that the actual hiring/firing/interviewing/training process is still going to be an ONSITE need for many companies... Does a certification make a dfference in YOUR office, as far as hiring Managment? Would you be more inclined to hire someone with certification and experience with people, as opposed to a four-year degree and no experience with people?
I would love info and feedback, and if anyone would take my quick survey, please PM me.
