"Fair Game," the drama about the outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson, has come together with Naomi Watts starring, "Mrs. and Mrs. Smith" helmer Doug Liman directing and William Pohlad's River Road financing.
But the big question is whether Oscar-winning "Milk" star Sean Penn will close a deal to play Ambassador Joseph Wilson.

Penn is negotiating, but no deal has closed.Pohlad has a strong relationship with Penn: he was a producer on the Terrence Malick-directed "Tree of Life," which stars Penn and Brad Pitt, and Pohlad also was a producer and financier for "Into the Wild," which Penn directed.

Gere really looks more like Wilson but I always thought Kevin Costner would be the logical choice. However, there are questions about Costner's health. I love Sean Penn and will see him in anything, after his astonishing performance in Milk, but he doesn't really look like Wilson. That said, he's such a great actor I am sure he could do it well!

None of those guys holds a candle to Joe Wilson in sheer jaw-dropping HOT handsome good looks. The man is simply gorgeous. None of the actors come close.

7. Well, not really, but only because I saw him in person.

This was in 2007, I think. He was on his book tour and gave a talk at Southern CT State Univ. here in New Haven. He was not that tall and had a little pot. He was certainly handsome, but not that glamorous. That did not matter to me as I was more interested in what he had to say.

just fascinates me.

Kevin Costner (if that's the guy you thought I meant?) looks like a bad job of something done with bread dough. I find him an ugly, self-important man of sadly limited acting ability. (And I found the film "Dances With Wolves" exceedingly offensive for the way it portrayed the Lakota.)

Joe Wilson is drop-dead sexy, imo, yes.
And a little potbelly on him would just be dear.

15. He was kinda cute. He was well dressed and I noticed he used a rather elegant pen

to sign my book. I liked his hair, a bit long and just over the back of his collar, and with a touch of gray. Nice. When I told him it was a present for my son in law (a political consultant in Boston) and his book would go on the shelf next to Al Franken's autographed copy, he laughed.

Franken, by the way, was another hoot. I got his autograph in his book at the Yale Bookstore when he was speaking there a couple ofyears ago. I was in such a fog when I left I forgot to pay for the book and had to call them up and give them my cc number. Nobody got mad; they understood what had obviously happened to me...

As much as I like Sean Penn, though, he doesn't have the dapper good looks or the charm of Joe Wilson. Someone with Rupert Everett's style, perhaps, but would also have to have Wilson's incredible presence.
