Durbin tells Burris he should resign
Edited on Tue Feb-24-09 03:56 PM by Fuzz
Breaking on CNN. Suggests he should go back to the committee and resubmit his answers about his contacts with the governor's staff and that he is very disappointed. Said if in his shoes he would consider resigning.

1. Good luck with that
Burris is far more concerned with doing some more chiseling on his monument to himself than he is in anything else. He'll sit tight and do two years in the Senate so he can carve "U.S. Senator, 2009-2011" into the granite. I don't think he'll look for re-election, and the Democratic caucus should probably corner him, and extract that very promise from him publicly. Then tell him to vote the party line on every bill that comes up, and he can go back home to Illinois come 2011.
