Tonight I'm going to watch the SOTU speech for the first time in 8-years

I love the pageantry and tradition of when a president addresses congress, but I couldn't stomach watching the chimp in that role. To me he was never a legitimate president. I tried watching his first SOTU and turned it off, from then on I skipped it. I read about it on DU and/or in the papers. Tonight we have a REAL PRESIDENT again for the first time since Bill Clinton. I can't wait until I hear the door keeper call out, "Madam Speaker, The President of the United States!"

A couple of posters mentioned that it is not a SOTU speech, which is true, but it still follows the same format as a SOTU, and my meaning is that in such a magisterial setting its good to have a real president.

I forced myself to listen after 9/11 (Jan 2002), although it pained me to do so, and then I heard "Axis of Evil".....and got pissed knowing what Bush was starting with those words. I haven't watched since.
