Mickey Mouse to start layoffs

Disney World recently announced a major loss in income and that layoffs are expected. Sources within Disney say the layoffs could begin this week. Disney will not say how many people will be eliminated while it restructures and consolidates operations.

1. Damn.
Couldn't they have done this before they started production on another Witch Mountain movie starring The Rock?

6. They're downsizing to just four dwarfs. And two of them are now named Sanjay and Deepa. (NT)

4. I got the inside word. They're trying to get 600 managers to take early retirement

But that's only part of the cost-cutting plan. They're gonna start laying off the full-time/part-time workers at the same time. They will not announce how many they plan to axe. The Orlando Sentinel did a story earlier on Disney. The report said Disney profits were off by a whopping 32% compared to last year. With the recession appearing to deepen, I don't expect things will get better for the next several months.
