They have no idea how to respond.

Obama's smarts and competence did not sink in during the campaign. They thought he was just a shallow orator.

Possibly, they also do not understand that democrats don't judge on superficialities, like they do. Hence the selection of Palin to counteract Hillary.

a guy who is supposed to state the platforms and positions of the party. Instead they use a guy who, right from the second he walks about makes you queasy inside. They could have used anyone but this was the one they chose.

It wasn't an accident, like as others pointed out, Palin wasn't an accident or Steele. But this will backfire. Because the Republicans have more racists in the party then their public face will allow them to reveal, but behind closed doors many Republicans hate seeing brown skin representing them.

BTW, Steele wants to turn the Republican brand into a 'hip-hop' brand. I'm sure that'll go down real well with the good ole boys.

11. The upside of such a gratuitous display of presumption and detachment by the

GOP regarding their selections of whom will represent their party, first Palin, and now Jindal, is that after both failed, they are only left with the Grand OLD Party contingent of out of touch, rich, white men whose ideas are so bankrupt that they face zero chance of making any headway on the broad, modern American political stage.
