It's the name he chose for himself, and that's how he deserves to be addressed. "Weiner" is a fine Germanic name, and it's a shame that immigrants like Michael Savage have to protect themselves from all you anti-teutonic bigots.

2. It sounds like winer. It means someone who makes wine. |
|
Vs Wiener - which is someone from Wien (Vienna, Austria)

7. Ah. I took German for years in school, so I didn't even notice that. |

Funny how you forget which language you're reading sometimes.

8. My mom and I spent about three weeks in Germany and in Austria |
|
and we didn't know a word. All I could read on the menus was milk and cheese. One restaurant owner made animal sounds for us so we could decide if we wanted chicken, lamb or pork. The whole place died laughing.
Thank goodness the next stop was Italy because being so embarrassed was exhausting. lol

6. Shoulda named himself Michael Saxon |
|
then he could claim to be a descendant of the Merry Men and thusly continuing the fight against our Norman overlords, who are, after all, from France!

18. I think it's so funny... |
|
...that the letters got transposed at some point making the name literally "whiner", which is really what he is.

20. The surname is of German origin. |
|
That happens a lot though. Someone marries someone else from another country and the name moves with them.
