Jindal's "wtf - you call that a rebuttal"????
WTF was that? That's the best the NOPers can do? Did anyone read or vet it?

Suggestions for future rebuttals...

1. When giving a rebuttal - don't spend 10 minutes reciting an autobiography.

2. Don't deliver the "rebuttal" like you are telling a 5 year old a scary bedtime story. We had 8 years of being talked down to by someone with the intellectual curiosity of a gnat

3. Repeating "Americans can do anything" line was a repeat of McCain's green-screen moment of "this is not change we can count on..." moment.

4. Don't drag out the same tired, threadbare, beaten message of "goverment bad" "taxcuts fix everything". We've been there, bought the t-shirt, wore it out and don't want another one.

5. Hold a flashlight under your chin when you get to the scary parts about the government and bureaucrats rampaging through the streets and eating brains.

2. MSNBC-Newsvine Poll..
Do you think Gov. Bobby Jindal's response was effective in countering Obama's speech to Congress?
http://www.newsvine.com/_question/2009/02/24/2473775-do-you-think-gov-bobby-jindals-response-was-effective-in-countering-obamas-speech-to-congress

Question on speech
Yes. He gave a much needed reality check to Obama's promises. 15.6%
No. He didn't offer any alternatives to Obama's ideas. 79.5%
Not sure. His response echoed some of the same points in Obama's speech. 4.9%

some of the comments are a hoot!

3. Someone mentioned Mayberry and Barney Fife..

It was when he was talking about the "sherrif."

'Well, I'm the Sheriff and if you don't like it you can come and arrest me!' I asked him: 'Sheriff, what's got you so mad?'

6. and what's up with the "bobby" crap?
I know the back story - adopting the name as a child after watching Brady Bunch... but for cryin'outloud

He's an adult now - why not use "Piyush"? Ashamed or embarassed of ethnicity? If the NOPers have a big tent, then surely (don't call me shirley) they can find a seat for a someone named Piyush.

When I was 5 or 6 I wanted to be Wonder Woman, but you don't see me running around now insisting people call me Diana Prince ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonder_Woman )

If this is the "best and brightest" that the NOPers have to offer - they are really in deep doo-doo.

13. So he doesn't like his name. I'm not going to begrudge him that.
I have a friend who came to America from China when he was five. He chooses to spell his name Jay instead of Jai to be "more American." It's not a huge difference, but that's his choice, too.

Although Jindal's admitting that he chose it from The Brady Bunch does strike me as a little silly.

8. mixed reviews over at FR
Face it, it was a poor performance.

He may be a nice enough guy but he had a shot and he blew it.

*********************************
The performance was artificial, awkward and the comments were more about praising Obama for his blackness than anything else.

*************************************
The speech was weak on substance. We have heard enough already about how historic Obama's skin color is. Also this speech was intended to be a response to Obama, and should have hit hard on the porkulus and other democrap schemes against our Republic.

Instead we got Jindal introducing himself, heaped on with Obama praise and flavored with Jindal's family history.

Good thing for Jindal, this will be ancient history by time he could truely aspire for national office... in 2016 or 2020 that is.

************************************
I found the speech content fine, but the delivery was awful. I had a hard time watching him (his right hand movements were distracting me, why didn’t they give him a podium) plus his facial expressions and inflection were annoying. I have nothing against the guy, I think he’s a great Gov. but I also think he’s not ready for prime time.

*************************************
I’m sorry. He came across as a fly-weight high school teacher.
