4. I think the bridge, at least the one up here by Anchorage,

is dead in the water, at least for now. Who's going to use a bridge that has a projected $7 toll, when you can just drive a bit further and get to the same place?

For the record, though, this bridge, at least, is not exactly to nowhere -- it's from Anchorage to the Mat-Su Valley, which is the fastest growing population area in Alaska. That being said, however, it's still a giant waste of money and an engineering nightmare, from what I've read. The Ketchikan bridge also is not to "nowhere," but to Ketchikan's airport which is on an island. The airport couldn't be built in Ketchikan because of geography.

But Sarah's focusing on her pipeline to nowhere (Canada, actually, for natural gas to be used in the extraction of the tar sands), which is why she wants the stimulus money. This is also a dubious project when most Alaskans that I know would prefer an all-Alaska line.

This map shows the volcanos, but the bridge would have gone from Anchorage to that point you can see across Knik Arm. So the bridge wouldn't shave off much time getting to Wasilla, but would open up a lot of land there in the Mat-Su Borough, which is what the speculators were hoping for.

5. Agree that the Tar Sands is her goal. However, won't VP Biden be watching to see that the funds be

used for other purposes than for Palin to fulfill her promise to oil investors?

Don't know if this Tar Sands deal qualifies for infrastructure projects.
Hope Biden keeps a close eye on Gov Grifter.

I think there's some real hocus-pocus going on with this pipeline deal, and for the life of me, I can't understand why the Democrats in our state legislature backed Sarah's Trans-Canada deal, even more than the Republicans did. I tried to jam one of them up about it a few weeks ago at a "meet and greet," and he really didn't settle my questions at all.

To me there's something very curious about conditions being set for a project that only one company can meet. I've always been suspicious of that.

about this deal.
What benefit do the Dems have in promoting it?
Why are they beholding to the pipline deal?
Do they see oil revenue for their State if it goes through?
Its got to be for money or calling in a favor.

Palin's shifty business needs to be monitored, especially with that much cash at her disposal.
That's scary all by itself.
