Where's the TV coverage of people who actually are losing jobs and homes?
Edited on Wed Feb-25-09 02:27 PM by Mayberry Machiavelli
There seems to no end to the coverage available to sanctmonious pricks like Rick Santelli and their sneering contempt for Obama, but how often do you hear from someone who just got laid off and what their opinion is about the measures being attempted?

9. On the verge here too. And I doubt the PTB give a crap. I actually have equity in my home and am
8 yrs from payoff. Refi-ed in 2002 from a 30 yr to a 15 yr mortgage, reduced rate and didn't take any equity out. Unemployed for 4 mos and still keeping up mortgage pymts. When I no longer can, Wells Fargo will kick us out, happily, I suspect. x(

4. Food pantry lines, tent cities, people living in their cars?
Americans don't like to see REAL reality. American reality must be sugar coated with a HUGE prize in play.

5. Not on the news, but FYI Oprah and Lisa Ling are doing the entire hour on Wednesday
on the firsthand experiences of the new middle-class homeless.

She's got 20 million watching every day.

7. There isn't any coverage .
But you do hear about those scammed by Madoff and their heart ships but if you are just a worker out there stnding in the rain and cold with nothing left you are not news. I have heard of all the tent cities and people living in their cars or old motor homes but I have never seen one reporter go to one and talk to the people so there is an idea and a story of just how they ended up there and who they were before this horrid fate.

I guess these people are just the faceless and nameless who mean nothing in this grand world of the Media and the over paid useless talking heads but they matter the self important freaks.

You would hope if there was humanity with a conscience the news would report on this and let people know where to go if they become homeless and where to get help and what to expect.

LIke that lady who ended up living in her car and had it towed away standing there in the rain not knowing what to do or where to go. at least someone called and found her a place to go which was a tent city.

These are all people and I don't see why with all the buildings sitting empty why these people who worked and paid taxes and played the game of life as expected can't someone with the means help them out.

If I had the means I would and if I didn't the guilt would tear at me.

They featured a family every night. Now CBS is just another media whore.

10. They call into C-Span every morning from every corner of the country
But of course it is a lot cheaper to have a 'pundit' who is already on the payroll rant about the worthless than it is to have a crew go out and actually interview any of them.
