I watched Obama's speech, but not the Repuke response.
Judging from the posts around here I did the correct thing. Life is hard enough, why open yourself up to crazy talk that is upsetting?

3. Upsetting? It was a laugh riot.

And fun to watch them dig an even deeper hole for themselves.

4. Jindal=Ass Clown!
You should have gone for the total package. President Obama's oratory excellence made me feel proud to be an American, and Governor Jindal's moist-handshake whining made me feel proud to be a Democrat.

9. You missed something then. It's impossible to adequately compare how badly Jindal fared after Obama
Edited on Wed Feb-25-09 09:01 PM by riderinthestorm
The side to side comparison was pretty incredible. If you can, try to watch both of them back to back. Obama is smooth, effortless, a natural. Jindal comes across as wooden, artificial and mouthing the same old platitudes.

There's a "spark" that Obama has - obviously the Rethugs believed Jindal had it too but when you get them side by side, Jindal just looks and sounds pathetic.

And the message? Jindal's message was more same old, same old. Obama's came across as much more inspirational.

Frankly, I came away much more heartened about Dems long term health and stability after watching Jindal. If he's the Rethugs "big hope" for the future, they're in for a world of disappointment of Palin-esque proportions.

10. I did and feel the same
It was so wonderful that I had no need to want to drink myself through a Presidential speech!!!
I wanted to hear what he had to say and he treated his audience like intelligent people ... our President did a wonderful job of making me feel hopeful AGAIN ... why ruin that feeling?

I have seen enough pro-Palin bumper stickers around here (that make me gag) to know that those who want to believe the junk their side would spew, no matter how logic-defying it may be, will believe it ... I knew it was going to be partisan bullshit and I'd heard it all weekend leading up to this speech. Reading about it here was enough for me.

I don't watch Fox News or listen to Limbaugh for the same reason. My nerves don't need the stress anymore, thank you.
