Conservatives pan Jindal delivery; one calls his message 'nihilism'

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, the Republican responder last night to President Obama's speech, is taking hits from conservatives for delivering his speech badly. One conservative-leaning pundit, David Brooks of PBS and The New York Times, took on the substance of the speech and called it nihilistic for the party.

"This was his star turn and he came off wooden," Allahpundit at HotAir wrote in a post headlined "Jindal's awful rebuttal." Ace of Spades at Pajamas Media said Jindal "walked out like an earnest dork and has a weird inflection."

"He seemed to have somehow figured out a way to speak too quickly and too slow at the same time," said Jim Geraghty at The Campaign Spot.

At The Corner, Ramesh Ponnuru said Jindal's delivery was weak but also that what he said "seems unlikely to expand" the party base.

1. If you want to call what he did speaking. I consider it reading and for an Ivy leaguer,

he read poorly. I don't see him going any farther politically. A complete dorkey dud.
