China decries U.S. criticism of its rights record
BEIJING (Reuters) - China denounced on Thursday U.S. criticism of its human rights record in an annual tit-for-tat exchange, saying the United States should put its own house in order first.

We probably should put our house in order first.

2. Funny, that China doesn't actually address any issues brought up...
That said, we still have a lot of shit to clean up that was left by bush. Until we restore our own sense of credibility on issues like torture and indefinite detentions, criticizing others' human rights records is a meaningless and hollow gesture in self righteousness.

6. Precisely
Because as long as we haven't rectified the war crimes and the crimes against humanity perpetrated by the previous administration, China doesn't have to address any issue or specific instance. All they have to do is bleat, "Look who's talking: Abu Ghraib, Bagram, Guantanamo." Conversation over, and thousands of torture victims are no better off.

Thanks again, George W.

3. I thought President Obama was trying to do just that ...
It was the Bush administration which really stained the U.S.'s image when it came to human rights violations ...
