Boehner: GOP Policies Are Politically Harder, Dems Offer Free Lunch
By Eric Kleefeld - February 25, 2009, 4:30PM

The Wall St. Journal reports that John Boehner made an interesting observation about the Republican Party's problems: It's simply harder to sell their own ideas to the public, compared to the easy answers offered by the Democrats.

"We have a tougher job than our friends across the aisle. They've been offering Americans a free lunch for the last 80 years, rather successfully," Boehner said, at a lunch hosted by the Christian Science Monitor. "Those of us that believe in a smaller, more accountable government, we have a tougher time making our principles relevant to the American people. But it's our challenge, and we've got to do it."

A note about free lunches and small government: Boehner voted in 2003 for the Medicare drug bill, a mega-expensive expansion of entitlement spending with no method laid out on how to pay for it. And the modern GOP's platform is based largely on tax cuts, with the constant claim that they'll result in even more revenue.

2. Gosh, if only "tough" John was in the driver's seat now
Instead, he and his Republican pals all voted in lock-step with a crazed president and a barking mad vice-president who launched two invasions while cutting your taxes and the taxes of your overrich benefactors. So, instead of paying for his party's little military sprees, they just ran up the largest federal deficits ever seen.

Why wasn't John disciplined when he was in power? He and his party inherited federal budget surpluses and then turned them around to shovel the contents of the federal treasury into the pockets of his friends as fast as you could do it. Where was his "tough" in 2002? In 2003? In 2004? In 2005? In 2006?

Of course, it didn't matter after that.

3. What a crock a crap - nothing appeals to the dumdums more than tax cuts
and that's been the message of Boner and his buds for the past 30 years. If you can't sell tax cuts, you really ought to get out of Dodge.

7. Boehner = Village Idiot
Village Idiot = (Urban Dictionary)

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=village%20idiot

The stupidest or most idiotic person in a particular village, as elected by the local populace. The kind who would steal all the sugar from an overturned lorry and go door-to-door trying to sell it.

Please explain to me how this man continues to be in Congress??? It is way beyond my comprehension!

"When you Homelanders stop hating America, and stop hoping and acting to make America FAIL, and stop spewing nattering negativity and lameass lies, we might listen to you at some point in the future. But you have made your own bed of hypocritical, greed-encrusted, totalitarian shit, so shut up and lie in it."

11. People Now Can Smell The Turd...
For years the GOOP dressed their turds up in fancy packaging...you didn't know what was inside until you bought it. Now, the smell is so bad, people see it before it even arrives. No wonder Boner has his problems.

But then, this dude is also one who passed out cigarette lobby money on the floor of the House attempting to bribe for votes...a true horsetrader who has nothing to trade anymore...and never traded fair in the first place.

The real destructive thing to GOOP is doing these days is to try to pretend that they didn't exist over the past 8 years...that somehow boooshie wasn't theirs. The more they ignore and deny and obstruct, the bigger that turd smells.

14. Republicon Homelanders = Turd Burglars
And having suffered for many agonizingly long years under Republicons' grossly perverted 'Family Values,' Americans know it for a fact.

15. Free lunch, eh? I'll have some of that federally funded health care that he and the rest of his
selfish/self-serving party members enjoy! Talk about a free lunch!

Honestly, who buys this crap from the repugs, anymore?

Say one thing and do the complete opposite while claiming not too. I don't understand why their followers can't see that? And what moran believes that cutting taxes will result in more revenue?

That trick NEVER WORKS.

17. People didn't buy Repub ideas this time around because they saw that THEY DON'T WORK!!!
Edited on Thu Feb-26-09 10:01 AM by rocktivity
At least, they saw that they don't work FOR the people.

The people finally see how dangerous a small government is--it's too powerful, it's too wealthy, it's too lawless, it's too UN-accountable. That's why people felt that Obama was peddling a superior product. As someone told me back in October, "I just don't see things improving under McCain. They may not improve under Obama, but they will not improve under McCain."

Cut the DU "Cry Me A River" String Quartet!
