ACTION ALERT from WORK THE VOTE LA. PLEASE CONTACT : workthevote@gmail.com to schedule your participation.
WHY DO WE NEED THIS AUDIT? AND YOUR HELP?
Because on 11/04/08 Work the Vote Poll Monitors witnessed:
MANY (too many) provisional ballots given out:
-to Voters involuntarily registered Vote By Mail. Who "reregistered" them?
-to Voters incorrectly registered as Inactive. Who changed their status?
-to Voters, sent sample ballots with their poll address, but were not on the voter rolls. Huh?
-to New Voters who registered long before the deadline, but were not on the rolls. Why?
There weren't enough real ballots allocated to certain precincts. Was there a pattern?
DIFFERENT poll worker ballot counts at the precinct vs official counts of the ballots at Norwalk. At the end of the day, poll workers are often exhausted and can't count the ballots and do the math. What can we do to help?

Saturday 2/28 St. Bede's Community Room (from 10-4, pick a two hour shift - SEE BELOW) 3590 Grandview Blvd. Mar Vista 90066
An unprecedented Public Records request has delivered to WTV over 4,500 official precinct ballot statements. (These are counts of ballots according to "type" at the precinct level.) We need to enter that data. After an analysis* of these and other public records, our poll monitor reports, voter interviews, and some investigation. We will share our findings with SOS Bowen, Registrar Dean Logan, Senator Oropeza, Supervisor Ridley-Thomas.... and every other representative, LA group and media that expresses interest. (Even those who don't!)

We are setting up 10 three-person teams, each working two-hour shifts. Bring someone who also loves to vote and cares.
