John Boehner says Repugs are disliked 'cause Americans are Welfare Queens looking for a handout
from TPM DC:

Boehner: GOP Policies Are Politically Harder, Dems Offer Free Lunch
By Eric Kleefeld - February 25, 2009, 4:30PM

The Wall St. Journal reports that John Boehner made an interesting observation about the Republican Party's problems: It's simply harder to sell their own ideas to the public, compared to the easy answers offered by the Democrats.

"We have a tougher job than our friends across the aisle. They've been offering Americans a free lunch for the last 80 years, rather successfully," Boehner said, at a lunch hosted by the Christian Science Monitor. "Those of us that believe in a smaller, more accountable government, we have a tougher time making our principles relevant to the American people. But it's our challenge, and we've got to do it."

A note about free lunches and small government: Boehner voted in 2003 for the Medicare drug bill, a mega-expensive expansion of entitlement spending with no method laid out on how to pay for it. And the modern GOP's platform is based largely on tax cuts, with the constant claim that they'll result in even more revenue.

1. The biggest welfare queens for the past eight years have
been Rethugs and their cronies looting the treasury via contracts.

13. The biggest welfare queens are large corporations and the most affluent who send a smaller
percentage of their total income to Uncle Sam than is routinely taken from the paychecks of tens of millions of Americans who earn only a tiny minuscule of what these welfare queens do. :P

For at least the next 25 years.

16. Their only hope is that they can
fool all of the people all of the time. To paraphrase a line from Woody Allen's "Hannah and Her Sisters", "If Lincoln came back today and saw all of the things that were being done in the Republican Party's name, he'd never stop throwing up.

6. Ole John is so thought provoking
My wife and I are both military veterans, never took a dime of government assistance in the form of welfare, food stamps (ceptin a food debit card after Katrina.) Neither one of us has ever committed a felony, we pay taxes without complaint, have the best looking yard in the neighborhood, don't go to church, are loved by our neighbors, I could be considered a redneck, I grow some awesome tomatoes in the summer, we don't look for handouts and both of us hate the living fucking shit out of john boehner and his fellow dumbass republicans. Nice try in profiling johnny.

8. no, bonehead, we hate you and your party because you are LIARS, THIEVES, THUGS and MURDERERS
who totally ignore the constitution, hate everyone who isn't rich, and love playing war--using other people as cannon fodder. why is it that the party of fiscal responsibility is the one that has consistently run up the national debt?

go home, and just shut up

15. Mr. Boehner. Please Say That To My Face!
He would not dare tell an average middle class american in person. No way. He's a cowardly twit with a small, small mind just hearing himself talk.

All talk, no walk.

18. The biggest welfare queens in the past 8 years have been the top 10% & corporations.
If I'm expecting fairness & a decent quality of life, I'm referred to as a "welfare queen" asking for "hand-outs" by the 'thugs -- the same 'thugs who refer to the money taken out of my paychecks for my social security fund as an entitlement?
