Scores of Legal Experts, Progressive Groups Demand Bush/Cheney Prosecution

Scores of Legal Experts, Progressive Groups Demand Bush, Cheney Prosecution
Sign on to demand non-partisan special counsel, immediate prosecution of Bush, Cheney and other former senior administration officials...

Only in America can elected officials go on TV and confess to felonies (including torture and warrantless spying, not to mention aggressive war) and the resulting debate focus around the question of whether investigating the "possibility" of wrong-doing would be too radical. This week a coalition of dozens of human rights groups including the Center for Constitutional Rights, the National Lawyers Guild, and the Society of American Law Teachers released a statement, cutting to the chase...

2. He did not "Confess" to felonies, he admitted to them
What George Bush did was admit that he had knowledge of and approved certain things, if it was self incriminating, well then it was but it was not a confession. He did not say that there was a crime and he had committed it, that a law had been broken and he was the one who had broken it. They are much different things.

13. Told or confessed same thing
If a prisoner "tells" a cellmate about a crime he committed, that can be used as evidence against him.

15. In legal terms, what he may have done was make a
"statement against interest" which is admissable in court.I don't know if crimes were committed - maybe we'll find out - but saying you OKed a crime and were in position to do so,and the criminal act was a result of your OKing it, it is a statement against interest and anyone hearing it can be made to testify in court about it and it is admissable.
If bush knew of a crime and did not report it, then there's the possibility of suborning a crime.

8. Impeachophobia Continues To Cost Us, Big Time
Without prosecutions we remain a War Criminal Nation.

We cannot succeed in any way with such an albatross around our necks.

9. Either investigate or own part of this mess. There is no middle
ground. Either our nation stands for the rule of law and civilized behavior or we're no better than any other country that's gone in and killed innocents just to steal their country.

This is so obvious a child should be able to figure it out....unless you are a kabuki dancer for whom reality is far more duplicitous.
