Molly Ivins' "Who Let The Dogs In"

I just started listening to Ivins' 2004 book (wasn't she amazing?), "Who Let The Dogs In", which is essentially a collection of essays/columns she wrote over the years (starting with Reagan/Bush) and I was simply stunned listening to her columns from during the early to late Clinton years and realizing just how she may as well have been writing about what is going on right now (and probably would be writing now if she was still with us :-() with Obama, the Republicans, and, most, importantly the seemingly omnipresent and self-perpetuating corporate whore media consortium.

Specifically, in many of her columns she expressed her utter befuddlement at how the press largely (and seemingly willfully) ignored all of the the scandals and improprieties of the Reagan/Bush (mis-)administrations but went full throttle attack dog mode on Clinton and his adminstration for 8 long years during which we were subjected to coverage of every GOP poutrage and every little "whiff" of scandal that might involve Bill and/or Hillary Clinton. And the Republicans, media, etc., of course, brought government to a screeching halt over the Lewinsky matter and impeached him over their (feigned) outrage over his failure to adhere to "the rule of law (an amazingly "quaint" notion during the GWB years if ever there was one)." :eyes: As we all know too well, the corporate media whores of course then retreated back into their previous self-induced coma during the eight long years of the GWB (mis-)administration and are now (not surprisingly) suddenly back with a vengeance to ensure that Obama, like Clinton, is held *suitably accountable* for............????? The STUNNING hypocrisy of our corporate whore media (not to mention the Republican Party in general) simply makes me want to :puke: It is simply eerie to me how history seems to be repeating itself in regards to how the corporate whore media treats Democrats. It just can't simply be a coincidence! Does anybody our side "get it" (except for Obama)? WTH can we do about it?

**Thankfully, despite their best efforts, neither the corporate whore media nor the GOP are having much luck with their plot to make sure Obama "fails" right now as evidenced by the fact that most people remain very supportive of him and the Democratic agenda in general but I get continually frustrated about the fact that it remains difficult- if not impossible- for us to get our message out there.
