I spoke with someone today about his dialect, and this astute woman mentioned that he was most likely trying to hide any evidence of his Hindi accent, even though most East Indians speak in a non descritp english dialect. Regardless of that, they can also flow into the East-Indian dialect, at will, since they grew up with it.
