Jobless Angry at Possibility of No Benefits
As governors in nine states, mostly in the South, consider rejecting millions of dollars in federal stimulus money for increased unemployment insurance, there is growing anger among the ranks of the jobless in those states that they could be left out of a significant government benefit.

The stimulus bill recently passed by Congress includes incentives to states to expand benefits to many more jobless people, including part-time workers and those who have cycled in and out of the work force, who are not covered in many states.

The Republican governors of Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and Texas, along with Alaska and Idaho, have raised protests, saying that expansion could eventually require them to raise taxes.

They can't eat ideology, and these governors (I use the term lightly) will reap the whirlwind. There are a lot of unemployed in these states, and the number is growing. I hope this is the move that will finally open some of the voters' eyes to the shit they have heard for years.

Even time I start feeling a little bit sorry for Jindal after is failed speech. I remember his stance on unemployment funds.

4. If they didn't vote for these governors then they have my sympathy
If they did vote for these governors, then it's chickens come home to roost.

5. Vote 'em out or recall the NOPer Governors
Not sure which ones will be up for re-election in 2010 - but the cherry-picking govs have given their potential opponents a platform.

For those not up for reelction in 2010 - there's always RECALL.

6. If anything teaches the people in these states that voting for these jerks is voting against
their own best interests, it should be this.

Some people need to start to learn to vote for the person who will most help THEM, not the wealthy entrepreneur they HOPE to become or imagine they will be someday.
