9. I guess that would be me, then
I use them for every possible purchase that I can make during the month (gas, groceries, phone bills, insurance, restaurants, postage, etc) and pay them off each month taking advantage of their rebate and cash back programs.

So if that makes me a plastic junkie in your opinion....... :boring:

8. good way to ruin your credit score
unfortunately, and unjustly, credit scores are used for more than just granting of credit. They can determine auto insurance rates, and some employers even check them before making a hiring decision. Some landlords use them. Banks may even refuse an account application because of credit scores.

It's part of the "game" we are forced to play as U.S. citizens/residents in this time and place.

If I weren't soon applying for a mortgage, I would cancel my cc. But I have to be concerned about my credit and, to keep a good score, must pay on time, more than the minimum, AND use it at least minimally. Not charging it to the max is also necessary. 10% of its limit is a good rule of thumb to maintain or increase a credit score.

11. Why don't you just pay them off on time? You only need credit to buy
a house and car. Do not use credit to buy stuff you can't pay off monthly. It is good fiscal sense and will also hurt the predators.

I don't use them. If I can't buy it, then I shouldn't afford it.

Credit cards = modern day slavery. It doesn't matter what color, race, or creed you are.

People are brought up thinking that it's normal to owe money to everyone. I was lucky enough to grow up hearing stories about the depression from my family in addition to how they didn't buy an item on credit. They saved for everything they bought.

I'm glad I was taught that...as long as I can remember.

I feel bad for the people that have no other option though and have to survive off them. I seriously do.
