A big part of the problem on DU, and with the Democratic party generally, is that a whole lot of people are tagging along who don't understand or appreciate core principles, they just really can't stand the current crop of Republicans.

This is a big problem with a two party system, it really doesn't reflect political differences well. There are a lot of people who identify as Democrats, or even as liberals, who don't really have anything more in common with me than with your typical Republican.

In the Lounge, we aren't like that at all. We'd feed the kid in the Lounge, dammit. It might be boxed wine, homemade cat kibble(using only the finest, freshest ingredients), and popcorn, but the kid would eat and not be traumatized by it...unless it spotted me streaking late one night. :woohoo:
