Just clear the hell out of Iraq.
I don't want to hear about American interests needing to be protected. What interests? The ones that the Bush/Cheney gang established there? Iraq's oil that now has American oil vultures salivating over it? It's Iraq's oil. It's their country. Sure, it's shot to hell and back. About .00001% of our population wanted Iraq broken to exploit their resources. I'm all for that .00001% of the population moving to Iraq and overseeing their interests there. As far as I'm concerned, the trillion or so dollars spent killing tens of thousands would have been better spent on healthcare, education, or invested in homegrown energy.

OUT! OUT! I say. Get out! We've done enough to destroy one civilization. I feel relatively certain that our corporate masters have another defenseless victim in mind after the dust settles from this nation rape.

1. I personally favor erecting a billboard in Bagdhad saying 'We won. Bye!' .
Short and sweet. Why prolong the agony of a war we should never have been involved in?

2. It's been this way most of our lives.
Every few years, the war masters find some innocent nation to kill the shit out of. I am so sick of them. We've been watching this crap since forever. Our wars never change things for the better. It only gets better when we get off their chest and leave them alone.

6. If we removed our entire presence (as we should) from Iraq...
Edited on Sat Feb-28-09 02:59 AM by No.23
because we had no right to be there in the first place (which we didn't)...

then we can't come up with a good reason to increase our forces there in the future (such as our troops are in danger).

It would be significantly tougher to reengage there in the future if American blood wasn't spilled.

You have to try to think like a maniac to understand the motivation for some things.

Reasoning things out won't help you much there.

Americans are quick to seek revenge if American blood is spilled.

Didn't 09/11 teach us that?

7. Also, if we pulled our seven year buildup of weapons out of Iraq,
then we wouldn't need to manufacture as much for our next "engagement." And manufacturing weapons is what it's all about.

9. That's what we're doing.
It's going to take some time unless we want to leave behind the tanks and all the other shit we dragged in there in the first place.

12. But..but..we still have a "mission" to "accomplish" there.
Nobody can tell us what it is but it's there somewhere. Not to mention the new mission to accomplish in Afghanistan that nobody can explain.

13. damn!
Error: You've already recommended that thread.

I am so fucking sick of this god damned war and all of the stupid people that continue to perpetuate the excuses for it.

The Iraqis who will be killed, have their homes/families/lives ruined in the next three years don't really give a shit that Obama says we'll leave... eventually.
