Chewing the Kud

O, pray, let this be so.

At Contentions, a little birdie poops into Jennifer Rubin's ear:

Here at CPAC a well placed source with knowledge of the Republican Senate Committee plans tells me that Larry Kudlow is “considering” a Senate run against embattled Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd.

Speaking of CPAC, I had a live feed running in the corner of my computer screen and do these guys ever need fresh material. The zing is gone, if the presentations I semi-monitored are any indication. I heard one joker repeat the old wheeze about the scariest words in the English language being, "We're from the government, and we're here to help" (fine, then airlift your own fat asses out of the wildfire zones next time, Mr. Self-Reliant), another telling the dead-tired Reaganesque fable that ends "With all this manure, there must be a pony in here somewhere," and some talk radio host quipping about how hard it must be being married to Nancy Pelosi, "I've never met Pelosi's husband, but I want to give this guy a medal." Tucker Carlson popped in like he was doing a Friar's Club appearance, then beat a retreat before a female questioner-- outraged by the liberal bias of the New York Times--could pester him further. Now, as I type, Newt Gingrich is making a rock-star entrance, working the crowd like Jay Leno, if that's your idea of a visionary Pancho Villa.
