CPAC: Marriage Equality Will Create a Generation of Violent Criminals
CPAC: Marriage Equality Will Create a Generation of Violent Criminals
By Kyle | February 26, 2009 - 6:09pm

The Liberty Counsel's Mat Staver explains to the CPAC audience that "same-sex marriage sets forth a fatherless policy" and says that you don't need a bunch of scientific data to know that that is bad. After all, kids without fathers tend to fare poorly ... and if you need proof, all you have to do is take a look at the prison population.

Thus, the logic seems to go, letting two women get married will lead to a whole generation of fatherless children who will inevitably become violent criminals...

1. What about gay male couples who adopt?
That's two fathers. I don't suppose they mentioned that.

2. Wow. Talk about a twisted form of "logic." That has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.
And that is quite an accomplishment, especially after 8 years of Bush.

3. Sad.
What's their brilliant explanation for war criminals and corporate criminals? :sarcasm: Nice to know all that reaching out has really changed their thinking.

13. Or nearly every one of the boys who have shot up their classmates
over the past decade or so? Nearly all of which came from traditional two parent families?

Maybe their logic is that if these boys had been raised by lesbians, they would have skipped the shooting and just blown up the school.

:sarcasm:

Morons.

5. Hmmmmm. What about all the 'fatherless' kids because of divorce?
And don't try to tell me repubics don't get divorced. They can't stand themselves let alone having to try to live with another hateful creature like themselves. That has to be ugly.

7. They're just embarassing themselves......
They sound like foaming-at-the-mouth assholes with no rational arguments, which, I suppose, is what they are.

10. Er, that excuse makes no sense
Whether there is same-sex marriage or not, there are always going to be unmarried lesbian couples who have kids, kids who have deadbeat dads from a heterosexual relationship, kids whose fathers died, and women who choose to be single mothers.

11. Children of lesbian couples are more likely to get involved with sports...

and there is strong evidence that involvement with sports keeps youth from getting involved with crime. (This is a stronger argument than anything CPAC could come up with, LOL)

Edited on Sat Feb-28-09 07:17 PM by gratuitous
Yeah, guys like Dahmer, BTK and any number of ruthless inner city gangsters are fresh out of the gentleman bandit school of criminality. Imagine what might result if children are raised in a loving home by a same sex couple! Can you just imagine the window treatments they would inflict on society?

14. As my partner just said. "Any man can be a father (sperm donor)
, but it takes a special man to be a DADDY!"

16. to add(makin late dinner)
We are a long term couple. With my health we could not adopt children.
We do adopt rescue dogs though, we cannot take a bunch to foster, but we take one at a time to add to our family and heal them emotionally to be good family members, folks who meet them are amazed that 2 of our girls were in severe straits when we took them and gave them a forever home. #1 we raised from a 5 week old and would have been put down because she was not purebred, she is my seizure alert, #2 was locked in a cage with 4 dingoes for months, and was skinny and starved, #3 was skinny and had been beaten and starved nearly to death, #4 arrived last week and she is only 8 weeks so we will see what we will see. She is thriving. #3 and 4 have were 9mos and 10(shelter thought she was much older) months and have blossomed. We live in the country and have 9 acres, but only have 2 fenced in to allow them room to roam. They are large/medium dogs that would be too cramped in city quarters.
We must not be such bad people if we can help them become good people too.
