The people in my area, who are mostly megaRepublican shrub voters, are openly contemptuous of Frist and see him as a charisma-less loser with no potential for the Presidency.

10. delaying his aspirations per the "only a gov can be elected"?
Given his penchant for showing his serious flaws when he is in the spotlight - the man would only further ruin his chance for the presidency. Odd thing, but he really does seem to believe that he is "destined" to be president. He can't read the writing on the walls that he is really destined to be a politcal footnote and has-been.
