3. Well, considering we had no business invading their sovereign nation in the first place,
surrendering and an apology may be the way to go!

5. It's neither. It's a date on a bill that's DOA at the whitehouse.
Speaker Pelosi handed out a lot of pork to get even this watered-down thing passed. And it does nothing to get our troops out.

If the republicans had any faith in our ability to "democratize" Iraq, in our ability to train Iraqi military and police to keep order, then it would be a celebration date, not a surrender date. But they know, as we know, that the Iraqis will not be trained to keep the peace. If anything, we're training and arming factions in the civil war.

Worse than pointless, we're creating the very group that we will "surrender" to.

I like that the bill passed, by whatever cajoling and bribery it took to get the votes. But it's just a "feel good" bill. The war continues.

7. They are
voting on the Cocran Amendment to strip the withdrawal date from the bill now, it looks like Lieberman voted with the Republics, OH GOOD they just finished the vote. No = 50, Yes = 48 so it stays in until the next ahole submits another amendment.

10. I knew that a stable democratic Iraq was at least 50 hard years away
too bad the dlc supporters of this war failed to understand how "hard" it would be post "mission accomplished".

God bless Dennis Kucinich:kick:
