Reason for Suspicion

Having spent some time digging into the administration's stated reason for U.S. Attorney Carol Lam's firing, it's time to cleanse the palate with the reasons why we're so suspicious.

So here we go.

-- Lam was never confronted over her approach to immigration prosecutions, the given reason for her dismissal.

-- In November, shortly before Lam was fired, a Justice Department official brainstormed about how to explain firing several U.S. attorneys: "The one common link here is that three of them are along the southern border so you could make the connection that DoJ is unhappy with the immigration prosecution numbers in those districts."

Excellent summary .... little reason to doubt why they needed to purge Ms. Lam.

It is exhausting to know how much work we have to do to get the corporate media to even make note of the facts...

In June 2005 the Cunningham investigation starts, and in July his house is raided by the FBI. Then in August, the Republicans start making immigration arguments against her. By September, Duke Cunningham, Duncan Hunter, and Lewis all signed a letter to the President complaining about Lam. And on November 9, 2005 Brett Tolman emails Moschella that he will get the fix in on the Patriot Act. I think the timeline speaks for itself.

3. They need to fill the courts so that when the next election comes around there

will be friendly courts to allow suppression and thefts . They also need lackeys that will bring last minute investigations against Dems.

5. Since this story broke big time in the MSM, I've felt that they wanted

enough firings so that no one single US Attorney would stand out as the true target. I was not surprised that they at one point considered firing all 93 US Attorneys. If they created enough "ground clutter" (aka "background noise"), no one would be able to pick out the "signal" (Lam as the real target).

Also, Lam was edging closer to the CIA and the number 3 guy there, additional reason to go after her, a la Plame-gate.
