Looks like bushy is going to have to veto the Supplemental. There is absolutely no way at all for the WH to successfully spin this one. The dems have all the cards: The American public supports this bill, they've provided the admin with the funding for the troops that they requested. They are so screwed.

bush must be shitting himself.

Even if you hate this legislation and think the dems were wrong to craft it and pass it, enjoy this moment. It's as bad for bush as anything that's happened to date, and yes, I believe it also advances ending the war.

1. I'm behind -- how did it pass the Senate without getting changed?
Or was it not voted on yet?

9. No changes
That's what the vote was about. The repukes were trying to remove the withdrawal language.

3. F Bush.
The man is a monster.

A little discomfort and stress right now is well deserved on his part.

He's an A-hole.

12. Me too....I bet jr is just a rantin' and a ravin'
and Kkkkkkkarl ain't doin' much better.,...and then of course we have limp along Deadeye who is probably telling the entire congress to go f itself...

Posted on another thread, it's gonna get interesting now to see how they spin his veto of this bill....and who knows, maybe he won't?????? After all he IS the decider and he might decide NOT to, just to prove all the pundits wrong.

Nah, that won't happen. Oh well.

So Congress is being told (via the veto) to go back and 'start over'....if it were only that easy after 4 years of hell.

Well, let's see if he dresses up in his flight suit, stands on an air carrier, announces mission accomplished when he vetoes the bill, and professes his 'patriotism' and 'support' of the soldiers.

13. That's my take on it, BUT everything depends upon our absolute commitment.
If we back-off one iota the Republicans will use it to their advantage.

Other than that, I'm kind of worried about Bush letting something happen accidentally on purpose or through some proxy, because he's being backed into a corner.

It passed, and we do not need your vote, thank you. Welcome to the Senate under new management.

I am betting that Bush is having another kicking fit.

Run.... Barney , RUN !!!!!

21. I don't imagine Chucklenuts kicking the dog, messing his Pampers,
yelling at Pickles or anything like that because HE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON. KKKarl drags Chucklenuts' sorry ass out for photo ops, bill signing, fence clearing and bike riding. All the "big boy" stuff is kept from him so not to sully his "beautiful mind."

Chucklenuts lives in a shiny rainbow colored plastic bubble and I can't see Dead Eye and KKKarl expecting him to have anything to do with the "hard work" but hit his marks and read from that telly prompter thingy.

Chucklenuts is too stupid, too mean and certainly too lazy to bother with such nonsense.

29. Unofficial reports of Bush's tirades are already legendary....
Supposedly his favorite word starts with an F....

He yells and screams at White House employees ....

He refers to Laura in vulgar terms....

He loves to give the Press and others 'the finger' ....

He enjoys making members of the WHite House Press run for miles in 100 degree heat at Texas, while he makes fun of them

It should be interesting to see if White House insiders come forward with proof of the above events as Bush gets closer to the end of his term.

20. C'mon George - SUPPORT THE TROOPS!!!!!
You and your Republic bootlickers have been using that mantra for 5 years. If you don't approve the spending, you'll be failing the troops in Iraq. You'll just have to respect the will of the people and accept that we've told you that play time is over. But, in the meantime, if you don't sign, it will prove that you could give a rat's ass about the immediate welfare of the troops. Sign the goddam legislation.

24. I don't think Bush cares, other than to get pissed about the vote.
to suggest that he is shitting himself is to suggest that for the first time in 6 yrs, he has interested himself in how government works. No, once some aide told him the result (IF they did) he grabbed a bottle of Jack, wondering why he don't get dat respeck thingie any no more.

They want the war to continue, to continue to line their pockets with greedy profits. After the troops come home, what will Halliburton/KBR/Blackwater do to gouge the taxpayers' money?
