12. He showed leadership and some resourcefulness, and it was needed
Edited on Tue Mar-27-07 08:21 PM by Solo_in_MD
Much of it may have been media hype, but at least he was out front and visible. The obvious comparison is to Nagin after Katrina...who IMO melted down. I don't like Rudy, won't vote for him under any circumstances, but I will give him credit for being effective after 9/11.

2. Fearful people need heroic images to worship and give them
a sense of security. It's only natural.... I don't think that he has done that much, probably not as much as ANY firefighter in NYC, living or dead.

4. an ad featuring a bunch of REAL New Yorkers
might amuse and educate. There are a number of groups who were not so impressed by Rudy. He's another "I'm the Decider" Republican.

8. I saw nothing from him on 9/11
Edited on Tue Mar-27-07 07:53 PM by Patmccccc
Must be that there was, logically, some photos of him and he was on the air a few times (certainly not enough to warrant his following imo). I have never once heard of anything remarkable or out of the ordinary that he accomplished.

10. If anyone is vulnerable to being swift boated rudy´s fair game......
for moving disaster control headquarters to a terrorist target that was hit in the past.I would bet there are a few first responders who would be happy to swift boat the asshole. Disaster control should have been far away from potential targets, no?

13. Ask the NYC FIREFIGHTERS
what they think of the ghouli..

"NYC Firefighters to Giuliani: "Not just no, but HELL NO."

"On the presidential campaign trail, Rudolph Giuliani leans heavily on his image as a hero of Sept. 11, but Thursday "America's Mayor" got a sharp rebuff from a disgruntled constituency most non-New Yorkers probably think is in his corner -- firefighters.

After Giuliani pulled out of a planned appearance at an International Association of Firefighters presidential forum next week, the group released a stinging draft letter indicating that it almost didn't invite him at all because of continuing anger at his "despicable" role in pulling firefighters off the Twin Towers' debris pile in 2001 before all hope of finding their dead comrades' remains was exhausted."
