The entire GOP has been reduced to the level of "trolls"
They hurl insults and ludicrous theories at anyone who they think will listen, just to annoy the listener. There's no reason remaining for the Grand Old Party, it killed itself with lies, torture, corruption, perversion and propaganda. So, incapable of change, the few remaining have decided they'll just be obstructionists who try to get in the way of anything meaningful.

5. The Republican Party is in its death throws
They are going to lose more Senate seats in 2010. Then they are going to be annihilated in 2012. After the 2012 elections, there will be a revelation among people who are right of center. The will find that they are not in the Democratic party, nor are they in the ultra right wing, neocon, religious fundamentalist Republican party.

This will lead to the creation of a new political party on the right, and the Republican Party will cease to exist.

It is our duty to rid this country of the pox that the Republican Party has become. The must be no compromise with these people. We must utterly crush the Republicans now and hasten their demise.

6. GOP, 1856-2009. RIP
Edited on Thu Mar-05-09 08:25 PM by Odin2005
The GOP has become the complete opposite of the radical progressive party it started out as. If Abe Lincoln and Thad Stevens were around today they would be Democrats.

7. It's true, history is in the making and we're living through it
People say the GOP will return but no one says how. The GOP has destroyed itself, it's way beyond a comeback even in our age of propaganda.

9. History always repeats itself.

I remember the same kinds of things being said about the democratic party some years ago. We shouldn't get too comfortable. The beast will return unexpectedly. All it takes is a candidate. Never forget it.

edit: Optical.Catalyst proposes a future outcome that I consider very likely. Republican party could dissolve, yes. Conservative politics, never. Just human nature.

to see what happens in 2010 and 2012.
I wonder if they'll manage to pull together enough pieces of their shattered party to stand a chance of not losing even more of their standing in the government.
At the very least, I think the republican party of the extreme right has committed suicide thanks to Bush and it will move towards the center if it survives this.
