Buxh is voicing a refusal to compromise on war spending
I don't think he's looked through the halls of Congress lately, but his support for "blank check governance" has waned considerably since his last plea for emergency funding.

The last "emergency" was a year ago.

The days of passing a budget with only half the spending for his favorite pastime in Iraq is over. Times have changed and just like a kid who can't make his allowance last the week, eventually he has to cut back when Mom refuses to another handout

Seldom is it mentioned that Buxh has gone to a Republican Congress every year to hit them up for "emergency funding" for this debacle of a war.

Every year!

It's clear that he can't pass a regular budget that contains enough spending to sustain his war for the year, so six months later he's right back on Capital Hill holding his hat in hand claiming an emergency and begging the other half of the money as if he didn't expect the cost to be so high.

Every freakin' year.

Times have changed, and so has sentiment on this fiasco.
Gone are the days that Mommy Republicans can whip out a rubber stamp, open Ft Knox, and throw "emergency" cash down the Halliburton Hole in Baghdad.

It's time Buxh cut back on arcade games, partying, and driving, and live within his allowance.
Or he can move out like Dad wants.

1. you know, it was interesting...I watched Tweety interview Cochran yesterday..
(the author of the failed ammendment yesterday) and of course Cochran kept railing about how this debate was hurting the troops (blah blah) so Tweety asked him in what specific way were the troops on the ground going to be affected and Cochran couldn't name one. He kept referring to "programs would have to shifted..." and kept trying to redirect to the "message" this would be sending.
