I hope he's defeated in the next election. I was appalled at his blatantly partisan manuevers today in the recently concluded House hearing on the GSA.

1. Well, on the up side, he got a good lesson in how to handle a hearing. |
|
He also learned that ignorance of the law is no defense. Mica was trying to give cover to Doan by suggesting she didn't know the law ergo she couldn't have done anything wrong. Waxman lectured him on the rule of law with a side order of slap down (that had to hurt and I bet it left a mark).
May he have many more opportunites to learn until the voters of Florida send his sorry ass home.
I just love hearings that are conducted for more reasons than to trot out show ponies for the administration.

2. One thing Mica and all of the Republics on these committee's need to think about. |
|
They probably haven't been involved with real investigations since Bush took office. They're not used to being on the tube and having their words documented for the record. They may find that their hackery and cover-up for this administration won't endear them to their constituents. I'd be very care if I were a Republic, not to try to score political points for their side...especially when the American people are wising up to the criminal conspiracy that the Republics have woven into our federal government. There's going to be a lot of content for the Democrats running against these Republics to use.

Watched it while eating lunch. Dems actually got questions in relative to what the discussion was about. Repubs tried to corner the IG who was following the law. They said the IG was on a witch hunt, that a 20K contract in an agency with a 52B budget was nothing, that GSA and the IG had to learn to work together(like they know). Waxman brought ups the Hatch Act Law but nothing phased them at all.
