The Justice Department turned over yet more documents to Congress today -- documents which seem to show that Alberto Gonzales' chief of staff Kyle Sampson was responsible for misleading Congress about Karl Rove's role in replacing a U.S. attorney.

5. no, this looks like a "kill the messenger strategy' since Sampson has agreed to talk.

In addition, I find that sending documents now, menas that documents were withheld from congress, doesn't it? Selectively sending the documents they want to has to be illegal. Congress asked for ALL documents. Unless, this was a reply to a new congressional request, it seems very suspicious to me...
Sampson will be testifying tomorrow. They send out documents incriminating him today/ Why not last week or the week before then? This looks to me like Gonzalez trying to bury Sampson, and with it Sampson's testimony...

in writing and supposedly the material provided was false. Looks like they want Sampson to take the hit on this one.

the emails show that he told the people who WERE testifying things that weren't true, which caused those people to testify falsely.

Seriously, since (I believe) there is evidence that Sampson knew about Rove's involvement, either Sampson admits that he directed that the letter deny Rove's involvement on his own initiative (he takes the fall) or he testifies that someone (big question...who) told him to make the change.

The Committees need to request full headers for all documents, and the e-mail addreses used in all the emails. Copies without full headers are incomplete.

I can tell you this is typical behavior. Delay, delay, delay, then bury them under a flood of paper.

20. It's not only the DOJ that does this. I think it's SOP in most cases.

At least those that are big enough to matter. The burry them under mountains of paper is an old lawyer trick. You actually DO give the opposition everything they asked for, but there's SO much material,the damning evidence will most likely be missed.
