Sampson will tell Congress: Firings were legit. CNN
Edited on Wed Mar-28-07 06:22 PM by Texas Explorer
CNN obtained a copy of Kyle Sampson's opening statement and reports that Sampson will not implicate wrong-doing in the USA firings.

Damn. So, is this a dead horse?

Edited to add: This was just reported on Sit Room (CNN) as a breaking story. No link yet.

13. He's not testifying in front of Waxman's committee in the House
He's testifying in the Senate Judiciary Committee, and I'm sure that Leahy (a former Prosecutor), Schumer, Whitehouse (former US Attorney) and others, will have some very good questions for him.

5. except for very early on -- i haven't gotten that he would say
anything else.

i'm guessing that there are layers to his testimony to uncover and that's what underlies questioning a loyal operative -- i.e. did the firings obstruct on going investigations or were the replacements going after dem voter fraud allegations.

it's my belief now -- in the wake of cunningham -- that rove cooked up a scheme whereby he would cast a wide net to ''catch'' dem politicians in a voter fraud case.

8. I'm not buying that whooey.
1. He's being thrown under the train by the Justice Department.

2. He hasn't heard the lock solid questions yet that have wrong doing written in stone.

He didn't get a lawyer to come out and say that everything is legal and squeaky clean at the Justice Department.

Hey, if everything was just fine and dandy, why is Sampson no longer working for Fredo? Remind me.
