1. Will any of those pathetic, abject WHORES in the immediate audience notice?
And if they do, will ANY of them comment on it in public?

I'm trying to be objective here, but wait til the rerun comes on regular CSPAN. He's really zoned.

I'm going to tape it, and I hope it gets put up somewhere online.

Crooks and Liars, are you recording this?

2. Craig Ferguson slows down Bush's speeches to make him sound drunk
It's part of his routine.

10. you're KIDDING!
but seriously, folks....

after reading the other posts, I have to say I think he was on haldol, or thorazine, or some other heavy duty anti-psychotic

he wasn't really slurring his words like a drunk....but he was talking in slow motion, like a red freak does.

my vote is for Rx, not 90 Proof.

12. I'm not, but when you play videos like these in GD
people are bound to believe you, because they want to see what they see and hear.

14. gee.....when I saw them it was as obvious as could be that the tapes were
altered

these have been linked many times here, and I don't remember too many, if any people thinking they weren't edited in some way.

even if somebody bought the reality of the tapes, he clearly looks to be on downers, rather than alcohol, so the "Bush drinking" description doesn't hold true, anyway. when somebody's that drunk, they'll be slurring their words.

3. we all said the same thing here
He sounded drunk, or doped, or like he thought it was really cool to talk slow and stupid.

4. I've been wondering for a few months is he was drinking again
Several of his appearances were dubious and I heard "some people" say he was drunk and called Laura a c**t in front of several reporters last week or so.

5. Letterman has made a lot of jokes about Bush drinking
it makes me wonder if some of the people he knows or has interviewed (Brokaw, Rather) have told him things.

6. Bush still used scripted notes to read from
Edited on Wed Mar-28-07 09:30 PM by NI4NI
when he was acknowledging Mr. Woodruff, the Blume family, Elizabeth Edwards and Mr.Snow.

In such a very short segment, Who needs to look at a complete set of notes like he did, to express sympathy concerning the tragedy and trauma of those individuals if it's meaningful and authentic?

7. could he possibly do a better job if he was drunk? Maybe he
would sleep more and be happier and less likely to torture. Maybe he would forget things, like Iran was a country. Some drunk people are funny and tell good jokes and remember he has a driver so no road danger to the rest of us. Also he could get liver disease or worsen the one he already has. Try to think of the bright side sometimes, it will cheer you up.

8. Then again, some people are really MEAN-ass drunks.
I don't know. I think he is capable of getting really pissy either way, but he may lose more inhibition about it if he's toasted.

9. Somehow I don't think Shrub is one of those "happy" drunks
Edited on Wed Mar-28-07 09:38 PM by DCKit
I've seen enough of his personality to know that I'd want to be far, far away if he were in his cups.

"Some people" have said that Laura's been spending nights at the Mayflower, a famous DC hotel about five blocks from the WH.

11. well, these are funny, but
I have to say that with things unravelling the way they are, I would not be a bit surprised if he were tempted. Someone (Rove, probably) no doubt has given the SS special instructions to keep him away from the WH wineceller. I expect if there actually had been incidents of serious benders, though, we'd see/hear more signs. And I STRONGLY suspect that if someone with his history took "just a sip to settle the nerves" it would be all over. Passed-out-in-the-gutter over. No, I think he's toeing the line, but his recalcitrance and belligerence are signs of someone barely maintaining control.

21. I really think it was meds. he sounded like he had to be sedated
to make it out there in front of his handmaidens

and I REALLY want SOMEBODY in the media to comment on how STRANGE he sounded

I know it's not going to happen, and it's beyond frustrating
