Rove, Ralston and Blackberrys. Can Blackberry records be subpoenaed?
Or are there traceable records of Blackberrys?

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=507947&mesg_id=512150
This recent post on Ralston had me questing for a photo I had remembered of Ralston, Rove and Co. during the evening of the Presidential election. A response to my query was posted by Judi Lynn, and the DU thread and the photo were the ones I recalled reading. I scanned the thread, and found a question posted by formercia, who asked if they were using Blackberrys; if so, they couldn't be traced or subpoenaed, like phones or e-mails. Is this the case? If so, you can guarantee that even the e-mails posted by these thugs on the RNC server will represent only the tip of the iceberg.

Here's the archived thread, titled "What's Rove doing with this bank of computers?" See post #27 and the resulting subthread discussion.

1. Apparently the answer is YES! Check this link.
http://privacyspot.com/?q=node/view/515

(snip)
messages that appear to be sent directly from one device to another (including SMS, instant messages, and PIN messages) aren't, and the introduction of the PIN messages in litigation is a good example of how such messages can be traced and reproduced because they are sent through servers.

People have been learning that e-mail messages aren't completely private; now they need to recognize that these other forms of text messaging leave similar footprints.

12. The way I readthe info I found and posted is that the data is also
retained. With cell phones, we're talking about voice transmission and I believe that's different than data transferring across various servers.

10. Here's another interesting pic I came across of Ralston and the players
last night. I had never seen this pic before, so it really stuck out when I searched for her last night. Wonder what those records could tell us about this crew too.

But don't miss that the guy on the right (in the first pic I posted) is Abramoff either!
