Retired Navy Admiral: "bin Laden's people would be very disappointed if we leave (Iraq)"

Admiral: No solution in Iraq is without risks

A former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said he doesn't see any way out of the conflict in Iraq that doesn't have a downside.

“Stay the course, cut and run, whatever. They all have risks,” retired Navy Adm. William Crowe Jr. said to an audience of about 100 at the Solebury School on Wednesday night.

...

“As to the terrorist threat, I think Osama bin Laden's people would be very disappointed if we leave,” Crowe said. “Instead of traveling a few hundred miles to hurt us, they'd have to travel a few thousand miles.”

Even if bin Laden and his men did come to the U.S., they wouldn't be able to overthrow the government because bin Laden doesn't have the wherewithal, he added.

Crowe said the nation's leaders need to focus on getting U.S. troops out of Iraq now. And before the country gets involved in future wars, it should restructure government to better handle them and create comprehensive plans for fighting.

“It may sound like overkill,” he said. “But it's a formula for long-term success.”

3. Tighten the chin strap on your TFH
If you believe that
Bush and cheney may have had fore knowledge of an attack on 9/11
Bush and OBL are aquainted, at least at a distance
Our foray to afganistan and iraq are about oil
each side needs a big enemy to keep the populace preoccupied
THIS IS A STORY OF TWO PEERS WHO MANIPULATE WORLD EVENTS, this is their playing field
we are their players,

So it is good for big business, good for theocratic dictatorships,
good for the military industrial complex,
good for the political divisions which divide society
good for the Bush dynasty

BAD FOR THE 603,000 HUMANS WHO HAVE DIED
BAD FOR THE 2,000,000 WHO HAVE BEEN DISPLACED AND TRAUMATIZED

IMPEACH PROTEST WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4. Who the hell gives a flying fuck WHAT bin Laden likes or doesn't like?
Since when is that any kind of standard? This codependent thinking is appalling! People who just can't seem to distinguish between right and wrong resort to this kind of dysfunctional 'consequentialism' - and it's sick!
