"Big Ed" Schultz tryout for MSNBC 10:00 p.m. Slot on NOW! |
|
He's doing pretty OK for now. Since he sounds like Rush and sometimes can seem "clueless" he might be a good bet for that slot between Keith and Rachel.
He's filling in for David Schuster. Talking about Fargo and Ball Scores...lots of Repugs will love that!

I despise this guy and why do everyone quote and takes seriously everythig this says?

4. Well...as we knew...he's got Lanny Davis on...but DLC is what he is ...still |
|
Ed is using Tom Harkin's rebuttal against Lanny... but...it's DLC...what can one expect. And, Obama has really embrassed the DLC with Rahm Emmanuel and much of his staff including Hillary at State...so they will have their voice to counteract the Left...and it's up to those of us on the LEFT to PUSH BACK.
At least we would get a Dem Dialogue with Schultz juxtaposed between Keith and Rachel. It's better than that Fox Stuff so many folks on DU watch and post here about. We Lefties can go against "Big Ed" instead of Hannity and O'Liely?

6. Sheesh...as the show goes on and "Big Ed" praises Tom Brokaw after having Lanny on |
|
I'm thinking he's either going Right for the MSNBC test of his Shill or he's going to be placed as a PLANT between Keith and Rachel to diffuse their message.
EEK! Kind of disgusting how he went over to real "Dark Stuff" after the first 20 minutes or so. ]

2. He just might be able to get the "mix" of Congress and Senate Critters that Rachel |
|
and Keith can't get on their shows. Ed has been doing this on Radio for awhile now...and he has great appeal to Rush defectors because he sounds so much like them. He's "DLC" but HEY...we need all the help we can get. I love my Lefties...but you have to compromise with this RW MEGA MEDIA. And...gotta keep working those Defectors....who just have had it with Rush and those they "thought" were "real fiscal conservative Repug values."
 I guess we will have to wait and see.

5. He sure didn't sound like DLC just now with Lanny Davis. He eviscerated Lanny. NT |

7. Ed is extremely pro-labor. |
|
I used to not like him but he has grown on me with his unyielding support of labor.

|

9. Ed moved to his DC apartment, and it's paying off. |
|
If MSNBC gives him a show, he'll have no problem getting guests. He's got the connections...for example, whose radio talk show has President Obama been on? (Right.)

11. You don't like him and think he's a "Plant?" |
|
Is that what I'm hearing? I've always been sort of "on the fence" about "Big Ed"...but, I still think he can get some Rushies over to us. Is that a price that Dems on the Progressive side want to pay, though.
That's what I wonder...

12. I think someone described him once as "Lou Dobbs, only without the immigration phobia." |

Or something like that. He's progressive, pro-union and liberal while coming across more like a Rushbo kind of guy than the pinko commie stereotype the wingnuts expect. Who knows--he might convert a few.
He's also not anti-business; he's just pro-worker as much as he is pro-business. He's not demanding that all corporations be dismantled. He strikes me as someone who just thinks businesses should operate fairly and give their employees a square deal and their fair share of reward for the company's success.
edited for clarity

13. He does sound like Rush. |
|
I always felt that Ed had good potential to draw some of the acoustically hypnotized over to the other side. He's doing pretty good.
