I Just Called Reid & Pelosi's Offices
To say I support the Iraq bill, and most of all I hope they are not going to let the rez & publicans win the pr battle on this. I said I hope they make the point that if the rez vetoes the bill he is actually the one denying funding to the troops. If you'd like to call also, the numbers are below.

Pelosi: (202) 225-0100

Reid: Phone: 202-224-3542

Toll Free Numbers: (800) 862-5530 (800) 833-6354 (866) 340-9281 (866) 220-0044

5. I heard on Ed Schultz say on his
show that if bush wants the troops there and the larger amount of troops, he'll just keep them there until Jan 09 because he has funding built in or something like that.

6. He Can Pull Funding From Other Places
But sooner or later when you rob from Paul to pay Peter, Peter needs the money back. Also, the Pentagon always wants as muvh as it can get and are saying (according to Murtha) they need funds by June 1.

7. Well, if that's the case, then think of how many MORE anti-war Dems
will get elected to Congress AND the Senate in November 2008.

See the bad guys kiss their dreams of the "Great Realignment" that keeps them in power for decades - a nice, heartfelt GOOD-BYE!!! Maybe PERMANENTLY.

9. I find it important to reiterate what several Duers and Cindy Sheehan have already said.
This never was about funding the troops; it is about funding corporations including Halliburton and blackwater. With the exception of the part of this particular bill which goes to wounded soldiers and vets.
"Funding the troops" and "supporting the troops" are both scams. The funding goes to greedy right-wing corporations.

10. If the Dems cut funding they would be crucified by the press
This way, they can let Bush be responsible for not funding the troops. I think it works beautifully.

11. That's what I think too
Halliburton/KBR/Blackwater are getting rich while our government sends our young people to fight a war, many of whom come back physically or mentally injured. or dead.

12. Good for you
We are now entering the most critical period in which Bush will play chicken with the Congress. The Congress must hold firm and not be intimidated by the propaganda blitz.
