He could probably sub-divide that amount of space into 20 good sized apartments.

There's no reason why a family of 4 can't live on 5,000 square feet. If he's afraid of living with the poor people, he could always put up a fence and security cameras separting his residence from the low-income tenants.

5. And millions of other people in the country
experience similar family hardships without Elizabeth's stellar medical care or 30,000 square feet houses.

No excuse.

4. From the looks of that location I figure he is out for privacy & solitude.
Otherwise, he could have bought a whole apartment building in Manhattan.

6. How true
Their family has had it rough. Newt deserted his wife when she had breast cancer. Edwards is a class act.

10. More than likely
this is a convention center that engulfs a residence.

I have seen a lot of these places with basketball half courts that could seat 300, and frequently did.

11. I'd be more than happy to rent one of the closets from him
and live in it if he'd let me roam around in the den and watch movies on his big screen - and of course I also get to raid the fridge and use the microwave. Hey, John! Set me up like that and you've got my vote! :hippie:

12. So are the Kennedys or the Heinz's or the Gore's dividing their properties up among the poor?
Grow up.Why shouldn't he have the house he wants? At least he earned his money and so did Elizabeth. And a 10,500 ft house isn't that big! The out buildings make up the balance. If I counted the space of outbldgs I grew up in a huge house too, but they were just barns and storage.I live in a 3000 sq.ft home and there are 2 of us.I don't think it is big.And I don't have rent out space to the homeless either. I just can't imagine why some want Edwards to live like a pauper.

13. Poor thing, You expect the Edwards to live in a shoe?
The Edwards don't have to get our permission as to where they live.
