Is the Iranian map of the Gulf incident online anywhere?
They showed something on Iranian TV, but it goes too quickly to be able to tell what their version of events is - where they say the ship was, where they say the boundary is.

Has anyone found it anywhere online? Or, even better, a comparison between it and the British one?

2. I saw it on BBC site a couple of days ago
the fundamental issue is there is no treaty or whatever agreement between Iraq/Iran were the boundary is.
So the Brits can't truly says its in/out the area because the area is under dispute between the two Arab governments.

"Lambert said he hoped it was a “simple mistake” stemming from the long dispute between Iraq and Iran over demarcating their territorial waters just off the mouth of the Shatt al-Arab, a waterway that divides the two countries."

Whichever position the boat was in it was still within 5 miles of Iran based on the scale of miles on the blowup.

How do you think the US would treat a Cuban military vessel within 5 miles of the Texas because the water is 'shared' with Mexico.

3. That's just the British version
The Iranians produced theirs today, and I want to compare the 2.

If the Cuban boat was in Mexican waters with the permission of the Mexican government, the USA would probably respect it. I'd certainly condemn them completely if they didn't.

4. Bad example, what if it was an Iranian vessel
within 5 miles of Texas.

5. In Mexican waters and within 5 miles of Texas?
Then the USA government should leave it alone. I suspect they would, as well. But even if we suspect the US government wouldn't leave it alone, that doesn't give the Iranians an excuse to capture people at gunpoint.

Even if the Iranian crews did believe they were in Iranian waters, formal protests are the way to settle disputes, not spiriting away the sailors as fast as possible and withholding consular access.

6. I completely agree with you.
It seems like basic common sense.
