Here we Go Now Despite Expected Need Brockton VA Rents Out Space
Across the Country this is happening VA hospitals are renting out wards needed for returning troops.

With need for mental health treatment expected to soar as veterans return from Iraq and Afghanistan, the Veterans Health Administration is allowing a Private psychiatric hospital to use space for 45 beds on its Brockton hospital campus.

Bottom line Nicholson is now going to make the VA's private. HMMM Wonder who will get the health care contracts.

2.  Man , what has not been privatized
This is not good news at all . What happened to the responsibility of the DOD and the nation ?

This is going to make the costs raise and with even less oversight .

3. But there were reports that some of the VA
hospitals in New England were also in desperate need of repairs and had pest issues.
Could that be the reason why?

VA finds problems at N.E. hospitals

Review cites mice, bugs, leaks at aging facilities

By Brian MacQuarrie, Globe Staff | March 26, 2007

A review by the Department of Veterans Affairs in the wake of the scandal at the Walter Reed Army
Medical Center has cited scores of substandard conditions in its New England hospitals and clinics,
including the presence of rodents and bugs, chronic leaks, and dilapidated furniture.

The nationwide review, ordered by Veterans Affairs Secretary Jim Nicholson, reported mice at the
VA Medical Center in Providence, recurring reports of flies at an outpatient clinic in Hyannis,
and mismatched, stained, and broken furniture in Manchester, N.H.

VA officials yesterday described the problems as normal concerns for aging buildings, some of
which are more than 75 years old. But Senator Edward M. Kennedy, Democrat of Massachusetts, said
the results of the review were a sign of bureaucratic neglect of the nation's veterans.

"This report highlights conditions that are unacceptable, and we must fix these problems immediately," Kennedy said. "The findings are just one more reason why the Veterans Administration needs additional funding and increased oversight. Our veterans and soldiers deserve medical facilities that match their enormous sacrifices."

4. Again that's all over the Country
Nicholson has let hospitals fall into disrepair. They want to close them. The Commission from hell was going to close 18 this year alone. But the Replugs lost the House and Senate now with oversight its catching up to them.
