Fired U.S. Attorney was pressured to go after "adult" pornography
From AVN's site:

http://avn.com/index_cache.php?Primary_Navigation=Articles&Action=View_Article&Content_ID=286293

"According to Bogden, Ward and other obscenity task force staffers came to AEE in search of potential targets for prosecution.

"They go in there, and in their super-sleuthing work, they come up with the name of an individual who may be selling obscene videos over the Internet," Bogden told the Sun.

Ward's chosen target was not selling or producing child porn or bestiality, but the kind of adults-only material considered "fairly routine" by current standards. Despite the shaky grounds for the case, "Ward's team wanted to send a message and wanted Bogden to take it on," the article stated".

This is what you get with theocrats in power....Why don't they get a task force to combat identity theft crimes?, which are very complicated cases & ARE a real problem today....No, this evangelical administration is more concerned with what the San Fernando Valley is producing (where most adult films are made)....

1. Were these obscenity task force staffers graduates of Regent University?
The whole federal government needs to be purged of these roman catholic style inquisitioners.

They have no right to instill their beliefs and values into government practices and operations.

2. People who don't think they're lawbreakers are low-hanging fruit
Besides being politically advantageous, "morality" prosecutions target people who are less likely to cover their tracks so they are easier targets. That was the rationale behind Ashkroft's famous head-shop dragnet, which took "dangerous" folks like Tommy Chong off the streets.

3. Bet Ward didn't really even care that much about the individual cases.
They found something they thought they could make an issue of, create POLITICAL THEATER, and away they go.

4. And one perk is: the Task force gets to see all the porn! And no one can tell me
they don't agree.
